Application requirements

  • To enroll in a master’s study, the student must have obtained a bachelor’s degree in oral and dental medicine and surgery from one of the dental colleges in the Arab Republic of Egypt or an equivalent degree (by the Supreme Council of Universities).
  • The student must have spent a year of compulsory training (internship). For international students, practicing the profession or training in a medical center or government hospital may be considered an alternative to the internship year, and the incoming student has the right to apply for a master’s degree directly in case he has spent the internship period.
  • The student must have a good general grade for the bachelor's degree. The student who holds a bachelor's degree with an acceptable grade may apply for a master's study if he obtains a postgraduate diploma in the same specialization.
  • Approval of the student's employer for his enrollment to obtain a master's degree, as well as for the specialization branch. The approval of the employer is also required for the student to sing the full-time necessary throughout the study period.
  • The student must submit an application including all the required documents in the name of Prof. Dr., the Dean of the college, within the period stipulated in the regulations. As for expatriates, the rules in force by the regulations of the University's Department of Expatriates shall be applied.
  • Obtaining a master’s degree requires studying the credit hours stipulated in the regulations, with success in all courses with a grade of C at least and obtaining a cumulative average of no less than (2.44), and conducting academic and applied research through an integrated thesis estimated at the equivalent of (20) credit hours.
  • Passing the English language proficiency exam as a university requirement to register for the degree, the local TOEFL with four hundred and fifty (450) degrees at least, or its equivalent (IELET) with seven (7) degrees at least, and the validity of this certificate is for a Gregorian year during which the student applies for enrollment degree.
  • For international students, an English language proficiency certificate may be submitted within one year of enrollment for the degree.
  • Approval of the concerned department council, and the registration is considered from the date of the college council’s approval of the final nomination for departments in accordance with the admission system approved by the college council.
  • Payment of tuition fees, training expenses, and equipment consumption before the start of the study or according to the specified and announced date in the college. Egyptian and foreign scholarship students are excluded from this condition, and the payment is for them during the academic year and before entering the examination.
  • Teaching assistants and doctors residing in the faculty, as well as those working in Ain Shams University hospitals, or whoever is decided to be exempted in whole or in part by the faculty or university council in accordance with their respective agreements in this regard, shall be exempted from tuition fees.
  • The application for enrollment in the master's degree takes place during the months of February and March of each year.
