This course covers fundamental topics in General Chemistry, including the properties of liquids and the intermolecular forces that govern their behavior, as well as the nature of solutions, methods of expressing concentration, and colligative properties. It also introduces the principles and laws of thermodynamics and their application in determining reaction spontaneity and equilibrium. In addition, the course addresses chemical kinetics and the factors affecting reaction rates, the concepts of oxidation and reduction and oxidation numbers, and the fundamentals of electrochemistry, including galvanic and electrolytic cells, electrode potentials, and their practical applications. The course aims to develop theoretical understanding, quantitative analytical skills, and the ability to relate chemical concepts to practical applications.
