The general aim of the Translation Course:
The goal of this course is to let students mention the techniques and problems of translating idioms and metaphors and to relate the different techniques of effective translation to be able to apply knowledge of effective translation to the selected texts.
• Selected classical English texts are given as examples of problematic texts. Students are asked to identify or to locate the problems in the texts and explain why they see them as such.
• Problems are made into a list. Students are asked to classify them into problems of meaning and structure.
