The course introduces the fundamental concepts necessary for the study of statics, the properties of forces, moments, couples, and equilibrium force systems. Analysis of two-dimensional problems is presented. The application of equilibrium principles to simple trusses is introduced. The concepts of distributed forces, centroids, mass centers, and detailed examples are presented. Also, the concept of friction, the phenomenon of dry friction, and applications are discussed. The course serves to solidify the student’s understanding of important subjects, including applied mathematics, physics, and graphics.
