Learning objectives:

At the end of this course the
students should be able to:

•Recognize the source of free radicals in
the body and its relation to the human pathology and development of some
diseases.
•Illustrate the mechanisms of the
metabolic reactions of free radicals and its relation to human diseases.
•Differentiate between external and
internal sources of free radicals.
•Identify the antioxidant system and its
role in the detoxification and inactivation of free radical and reactive
species.
•Conclude the effect of human antioxidant
system on protection against oxidative stress-related diseases.
•Relate the oxidative stress to the
different human diseases.
