يهدف هذا المقرر إلى التعريف بخطوات البحث الاجتماعي وإجراءاته المنهجية، وذلك من حيث: اختيار مشكلة البحث وصياغتها، اختيار نوع الدراسة المناسب للمشكلة، اختيار أداة البحث، وكيفية أعداد استمارة البحث وبنيتها، اختيار المنهج الملائم لمشكلة البحث، وطبع استمارة البحث وتجهيزها للنزول إلى الميدان. ويهدف هذا المقرر أيضا إلى تحقيق الممارسة الفعلية والمباشرة للبحوث الاجتماعية، وذلك من خلال النزول إلى الميدان لمقابلة أعضاء عينة-أو مجتمع البحث- لجمع البيانات، مراجعة البيانات ميدانيا ومكتبيا، وتفريغ البيانات وجدولتها، تحليل البيانات كميا وكيفيا، وكتابة التقرير النهائي للبحث.

This course provides the students with an opportunity to apply the sociological knowledge they acquired during the previous semesters. Students are trained on the design and implementation of field research focusing on: review of social research methods and approaches; selection of a research topic; identifying the conceptual framework; identification of concepts; raising research questions; literature review; identification of a methodological approach, research priorities and sample; the application of research tools in the field.
