The course deals with the chemical constituents in cells and tissue. This is followed by methods of processing of tissue and their staining techniques to obtain a coloured irreversible end result slide. The slides are then made available for histological investigation.

Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy examines the evolutionary history of vertebrate morphology with a primary focus on structure-function relationships. Lectures will trace the evolutionary origin of vertebrates through the vast diversity of animals living today. Emphasis will be placed on the analysis of similarities and differences across groups using a systems based approach to assess the significance of adaptations.
