The aim of the course is to ensure that students develop knowledge and understanding related to molecular genetics, compare between genetic materials in different organisms and study their functions, and to develop practical skills in molecular genetic techniques, thinking analytically and solving problems related to different molecular genetic subjects.
This course introduces the students to the prokaryotic and eukaryotic gene structure, expression, regulation, and analysis. The course provides in-depth studies covering various molecular tools and techniques such as restriction enzymes digestion, PCR methods, gene cloning, molecular markers and DNA sequencing in addition to their applications.
The aim of this course is to ensure that students develop knowledge and understanding related to:
1- Human rights in Science and its ethical and moral issues.
2- Contemporary issues (Biodiversity, Bioterrorism and Biopiracy).
3- Implication of human rights in Genetics (GMOs and Cloning).
4- Implication in human right in biomedical research (Informed consent, clinical trials).
5- Authorship and research misconduct (Fabrication, Falsification and Plagiarism).
