Aim of the Course:

orofacial structures and outline the possible treatment procedures being aware of

1. Aim of the Course:
Upon completion of the course, the successful student should be able to:
This clinical course is designed to give an in-depth understanding of the different restorative management of dental diseases using direct and indirect restorations with different adhesive protocols.
Intended Learning Outcomes Of Course (ILOs ):
a- knowledge and understanding
At the completion of this course successful student will be able to
a.1. Select ceramic material according to different clinical situations.
a.2. Identify different resin cements and their clinical uses.
a.3. Recognize the different cavity designs in different carious lesions.
a.4. Determine the best caries removal protocol according to caries lesion status.
a.5. Realize the clinical conditions where shift from direct to indirect restoration is mandatory.
a.6. Recognize the different direct restorative material and adhesive protocols with their pros and cons.
a.7. Realize the different management strategies in vital and non-vital badly decayed teeth.
a.8. Understand the clinical challenges when using different technique sensitive restorative materials
a.9. Memorize the clinical guidelines to optimize durability and guarantee long term success of direct restorations.
b- Intellectual skills
By the end of the course successful student should be able to
b.1 Choose the appropriate methods for different indirect restoration.
b.2 Categorize adhesive restorations according to different indications.
b.3 Correlate adhesive protocols with adhesive restorations for each case
b.4 Assess different protocols of caries management in different carious lesions
b.5 Integrate and link the information gained across the course program with the problem solving in vital and nonvital teeth.
b.6 Plan treatments for complicated cases.
b.7 Apply the concept of complete dentistry to restore hard tooth structure defects.

By the end of the course, successful student should be able to

c.3 Decide successful protocols managing badly decayed teeth
