This course aims to give the student the practical and theoretical basis on which the work of nuclear detectors and instruments used to detect nuclear radiation is based. This course also deals with the installation of some types of nuclear detectors such as, Semiconductor diode detectors and other solid-state detectors, to learn about the way each of them operates and their operational characteristics. The course also introduces a complete comparison between the different types of nuclear detectors to identify the advantages and disadvantages of each type and the most appropriate ways to use each type.
