This course introduces the fundamental principles of alternating current (AC), including its generation in single-phase, two-phase, and three-phase systems, as well as the basic operation of AC generators and transformers. It covers AC voltage and current, frequency, period, maximum, average, and RMS values, with emphasis on the use of complex numbers and phases in AC circuit analysis. The course examines resistive, inductive, and capacitive circuits, including impedance, voltage and current division, series and parallel circuits, and resonance phenomenon. It also introduces the rectification of alternating current, including the basic principles and applications of AC-to-DC conversion.
