This course provides undergraduate students with a comprehensive foundation in structural geology and geotectonics, bridging core theoretical concepts with real-world geological applications. Instructed by Prof. Wafaa Abd El-Aziz (Ain Shams University, Faculty of Education), the curriculum guides learners through Earth's interior architecture and plate tectonics, plate boundary dynamics, stress-strain deformation, primary sedimentary structures, and unconformities. Students will gain essential analytical skills in the geometric classification of folds and faults while exploring vital economic applications, including how structural features serve as targets for mineral exploration and oil and gas traps.
