This course addresses basic genetics structures, functions, and implications for public health. Course emphasis includes the various study of systems of specialized cells within organisms that help them perform the essential functions of life. The course reviews structure and function of genetic information (DNA molecules); the structure and function of genes, and the formation and work of proteins. The course also examines specific disease formation and growth as well as the study of the mechanisms of drug action on cells, organisms and populations
