Quantum Mechanics is a branch of physics that studies the behavior of matter and energy at the atomic and subatomic levels. It explains the properties of particles such as electrons, photons, and atoms. One of its main principles is wave-particle duality, which states that particles can behave as both waves and particles. Quantum mechanics also explains energy quantization, the uncertainty principle, and quantum superposition. The wave function describes the quantum state of a particle, and its squared magnitude represents the probability of finding the particle in a specific location. Another important concept is quantum entanglement, in which particles share correlated quantum states. Quantum tunneling allows particles to pass through energy barriers that are impossible to cross according to classical physics. Quantum mechanics has many practical applications in modern technology, including semiconductors, lasers, medical imaging, and quantum computing.
