Application requirements
- In order to register for a doctoral study, the student must have a master’s degree in the same specialty to be studied from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Ain Shams University or from one of the faculties of pharmacy in other recognized universities or equivalent from the Supreme Council of Universities. And fulfills the other conditions set forth in the regulation.
- Obtaining a PhD requires passing 12 credit hours (enough for a comprehensive exam) and conducting academic and applied research through an integrated thesis containing a new scientific addition, and it is estimated at the equivalent of 30 credit hours.
- The minimum study period is two years from registration and not more than five years, unless the college council decides to maintain the registration for a period not exceeding four years.

Department Overview:
This study aims to develop independent thought and the ability to innovate and develop, and then add new knowledge in the branch, field and topic chosen by the student by following the scientific, technical and research assets specialized in a precise specialization and deepening the research capabilities that have been developed at the master’s stage and conducting academic research and applying a scientific addition in Specialization branch through an integrated scientific thesis.
