This course looks at how rocks deform and how to use this information to determine the magnitudes and orientations of stress fields. Students will be introduced to the different types of secondary structures and their relation to plate movements. Students will also be taught the effect of these secondary structures on economic mineral deposits, petroleum, and groundwater.
