The aim of the course is to help students acquire the skills necessary for writing academic argumentative essays and use their critical faculties to analyze different kinds of texts. The first part of the course introduces students to the rules of academic writing with regard to argumentation. The second part focuses on expanding students' critical reading skills by using rhetoric and logical argumentation to analyze fictional, non-fictional and semi-(or non-)verbal texts.
