Applicants for admission to the Special Diploma of Teacher Preparation in Science must fulfill the following criteria:
The student must have a general diploma for teacher preparation in science granted by the faculties of Education in the Arab Republic of Egypt or an equivalent degree accepted by the Supreme Council of Universities, or be a graduate of faculties other than the faculties of education in one of the disciplines open to study in the faculty, provided that he is a holder of a General Diploma in Education from one of the Colleges of Education in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
No more than five years have passed since he obtained his first university degree (bachelor).
The student must have obtained a grade of (C+) good with a total of (2.33) points at least in the General Diploma for Teacher Preparation in science.
Successfully passing a college exam in English language and computer skills, as well as those who submit a recent accredited certificate stating that they have obtained TOEFL from Ain Shams University or the International TOEFL or its equivalent, and the International Computer Driving License from official recognized bodies, may be exempted, as determined by the College Council.
A graduate student may not register for more than one higher university diploma at a time without the agreement of the Council of Graduate Studies and Research, which is based on the approval of the College Council and the opinion of the appropriate departmental councils.
Teaching assistants may not register in higher education to obtain a university degree in a field other than their departments' specialization unless the president of the university decides to do so after the Council of Graduate Studies and Research approves a proposal from the College Council and the relevant department councils weigh in.
