This course aims to provide the student with essential information concerning Archegoniates. The student will be aware of the evolutionary trends among these plants. He/She must be able to recognize characters of Archegoniates, describe, illustrate and classify them. The student should be able to predict the systematic position of any archegoniate plant professionally and discuss its suitability to terrestrial habitats. In addition, the student will gain information concerning the significance of such plants in order to be interested in keeping the biodiversity and maintenance of plant resources.
